Eliel N. Arrey, MD, PhD, MBA, is a board-eligible general surgeon dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient-centered surgical care through clinical excellence, innovation, and service. He joins TriState General Surgery with expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of a broad range of general surgical conditions, with special interests in minimally invasive and robotic surgery, breast disease and breast cancer care, and advanced surgical technologies that enhance patient outcomes and recovery.

Dr. Arrey earned his Doctor of Medicine from the McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in 2017 and completed his General Surgery residency at the Morehouse School of Medicine at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2026. He also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Healthcare Administration from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Organizational Leadership from Columbia International University. During his surgical residency, Dr. Arrey completed the prestigious Cedars-Sinai enfolded Leadership Education for Advancing Practice in Healthcare (LEAP) Fellowship, an executive leadership program designed to prepare physicians to lead innovation, quality improvement, and transformation across complex healthcare systems.

In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Arrey proudly serves as a Senior Medical Officer in the United States Army, where he has developed the leadership, discipline, and commitment to service that continue to shape his approach to patient care. He believes in partnering with patients and their families, ensuring they are informed, supported, and empowered throughout every stage of their surgical journey.

Dr. Arrey is nationally recognized for his contributions to surgical research and healthcare innovation. His scholarly work has focused on improving rural access to surgical care, reducing disparities in breast cancer outcomes, and advancing robotic surgery and surgical education. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading medical journals, including the Journal of Surgical Oncology, American Surgeon, Histopathology, Journal of Neurosurgery: Pediatrics, and Journal of Neuro-Oncology. His recent work includes studies on improving access to surgical care, advancing health equity in breast cancer treatment, and optimizing breast cancer management following neoadjuvant chemotherapy.

Above all, Dr. Arrey is passionate about helping patients navigate some of life’s most challenging health conditions with compassion, respect, and clinical excellence. He is committed to delivering evidence-based, personalized care while continually advancing the quality of surgical care for the communities he serves.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Arrey enjoys composing music, following basketball and soccer, hiking, camping, and spending time with his family. He especially values fatherhood and the perspective, compassion, and gratitude it brings to both his personal and professional life.
