Barry Smith, DO, received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Midwestern University, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale, Arizona, in 2003, and his residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He went on to complete a fellowship in foregut, bariatrics, and robotic surgery in Houston, Texas, in 2021. Dr. Smith has been a board-certified general surgeon since 2009.

Dr. Smith brings extensive experience in general, trauma, bariatric, foregut, and minimally invasive robotic surgery. He began his career as a general and trauma surgeon with the United States Navy at U.S. Naval Hospital Guam, where he also served in surgical leadership roles. Following his honorable discharge in 2012, he returned to his home state of Idaho and has practiced in Boise, the Lewis-Clark Valley, and most recently at Syringa Hospital & Clinics in Grangeville.

Born in Twin Falls, Idaho, Dr. Smith earned his undergraduate degree from the College of Idaho and is excited to once again care for patients in the Lewis-Clark Valley. Outside of work, he enjoys boating, fishing, spending time outdoors, and time with family and friends.
