TriState Surgery Center is staffed with highly skilled nurses, technicians, and anesthesia personnel that work seamlessly with our expert and experienced surgeons. All of our surgeons are board-certified and diverse in their fields, specializing in a wide range of surgical procedures including gastric, colon and endoscopic surgery, urology, breast and surgical oncology, podiatry, and robotic-assisted surgery. Our goal is to make sure our community has access to cutting-edge surgical care where they are most comfortable: close to home and close to their loved ones.

We perform thousands of operations each year, from minimally invasive outpatient procedures to laparoscopic and inpatient surgeries. At our Surgery Center, we serve a broad range of patients including infants, children, adolescents, and adults. If you end up needing to seek surgical care, you can rest assured that our compassionate, personalized treatments, and whole-person approach will help you feel cared for every step of the way.

What to expect when you have surgery at TriState Surgery Center?

Perioperative Services (time around a scheduled surgery)  offers a wide range of outpatient care, including minor surgery, treatments, and medication administration. These services provide less intensive levels of care in the least amount of time, without sacrificing quality of care or outcome. An outpatient surgery is a planned procedure, not an emergency situation. It does not normally require an overnight stay in the hospital, barring complications or continued health needs. Our perioperative team schedules appointments to individualize each patient’s surgery preparation.

During the pre-operative visit, you will speak with a nurse regarding health status, previous procedures, medications, herbal supplements you take, and any special instructions for the day of surgery. You may also be seen by a pharmacist to review your medication regime. Your health information will be reviewed by anesthesia, but in most cases, you will not see your anesthesia provider until the day of surgery.

After the nurse interview, any tests and patient consultations ordered by your surgeon will be completed. These tests might include blood tests with the laboratory, chest X-rays, and the evaluation of your heart. These tests are instrumental in making sure you receive individualized, quality care.

The day before your surgery, the patient will be contacted with instructions on what time to arrive. The Pre-Operative Clinic is located on the southeast side of the hospital at entrance door #17. If you have any questions regarding your visit or planned surgery, please call the TriState Pre-Operative Clinic at 509.758.4670.

When you leave the hospital, you should expect to feel awake enough to go home, but plan to continue resting. Outpatient surgery usually means that you are able to go home and recover, but will probably not feel up for doing much the rest of the day or longer, depending on the type of procedure.

Please contact a nurse after your discharge to discuss any questions or concerns. Perioperative nurses are available for questions Monday – Friday, starting at 6:00am. Telephone numbers will be included in your discharge instruction sheets.

Post-operative and home instructions are provided with each patient’s needs in mind. Your provider will specify any follow-up care you may need.
