TriState Health is celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month by lighting the Imaging Center pink at night during the month of October. TriState is proud to encourage preventative care and show their support to breast cancer survivors, and those fighting the disease, during the month long campaign and into the future.
1 in 8 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime, causing it to be the second most common cancer among women. In 2024, an estimated 310,720 women and 2,800 men will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. Chances are, you know at least one person who has been personally affected by breast cancer. Advances in early detection and treatment methods have significantly increased breast cancer survival rates in recent years, and there are currently over 4 million breast cancer survivors in the United States.
The Women’s Imaging Center places an emphasis on screening for early detection, patient education, and a variety of treatment plans. In order to remove barriers to patients, they are a self-referral clinic for screening mammograms. Patients must meet the following criteria to receive a screening mammogram:
- Female, age 40 or over
- It’s been at least one year (365 days) since your last screening
- Not pregnant or breastfeeding
