At TriState Health, we are with you every step of the way and our compassionate team members want you to know that we are by your side when you need us. Whether that be explaining exactly what to expect throughout your patient experience, to providing you encouragement and companionship when you need someone to listen or just be there, you can expect to be treated like family when you walk through our doors. No one should have to feel alone when dealing with some of the uncertainties that health conditions often bring and we truly take to heart that our patients are part of our TriState family.

When Anita Bradley recently visited our TriState Imaging Center for a routine mammogram, the doctor identified a small tumor present in her breast. “From what I have read, such a small tumor would not even be detectable at this size,” Anita says. “Dr. Mannschreck was definitely on top of his game,” she continues. And, from this moment forward, Anita experienced firsthand what being part of the TriState family is all about.

As many people often worry when they receive unexpected news such as Anita did, she was unsure of what to expect after her diagnosis. The next steps would include an ultrasound, biopsy, and then surgery. Little did Anita know, Ultrasound Technologist Kristin, would quickly become a huge part of her journey.

“Kristen was very thorough in her explanation of what would happen during the ultrasound, and when Dr. Whitaker informed me that I needed a biopsy, she assured me that they would make me as comfortable as possible. I have been terrified of needles my entire life and often faint when getting blood drawn or need to get a shot, and the news made me incredibly nervous,” Anita explains. When she came in the following day for her biopsy, Kristen never left her side throughout the procedure, rubbing Kristen’s wrist to soothe her and providing her reassurance that she was doing great.

When Anita later returned to TriState for the next phase of her experience, she again had Kristen’s familiar and welcoming presence to assist and prepare her for surgery. “Kristen was such a comfort to me because this was not a piece of cake, by any stretch of the imagination,” Anita explains. “I still cry when I think about how she made it possible to endure a procedure that was very frightening, but also necessary.”

“My husband and I are completely impressed with the quality of care, the doctors, and specialists that TriState has added to their team,” Anita points out. “There is no reason to go outside the valley for care when we have qualified doctors and surgeons right here. Thank you to Kristen and the entire TriState team, again and again,” she concludes.
