Tri-State Hospital Foundation funded two new Mindray ultrasound machines to Tri-State Memorial Hospital’s anesthesia, emergency, and inpatient services departments. The funding amount for these two new machines totaled $117,729.17.

Anesthesia will use one ultrasound machine for invasive procedures including blocks and line placement, and the emergency and inpatient services departments will use the second machine. The emergency department will use the device for invasive procedures such as central line insertion, thoracentesis, when assessing trauma patients, and as a tool to aid diagnosis of occult bleeding and masses. The inpatient services department will utilize the ultrasound machine as a diagnostic tool and to support invasive procedures such as central line insertion.
