TriState Health welcomes a new provider, Aaron Russell, MD, to TriState General Surgery, Monday, February 2, 2026.

Aaron Russell, MD, earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Texas at Houston in 2013. He went on to complete his General Surgery Residency at Texas A&M – Scott & White, in Temple, Texas, where he received extensive training across a broad spectrum of surgical disciplines. Following residency, Dr. Russell served as a general surgeon, ICU Medical Director, and Wound Care Medical Director at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center in Kansas. Most recently, he practiced at Seton Medical Center in Harker Heights, Texas, where he also held the roles of Trauma Medical Director and Wound Care Medical Director. Throughout his career, he has maintained a strong commitment to advancing patient care and improving clinical outcomes within the communities he serves.

Dr. Russell is a board-certified general surgeon with expertise in minimally invasive and robotic (DaVinci Xi) surgery. His clinical practice includes laparoscopic and robotic procedures, acute care and trauma surgery, ICU management and procedures, vascular access, endoscopy (EGD and colonoscopy), gallbladder surgery, appendectomies, hernia repair, colon surgery, and a wide range of additional general surgical services such as excision of lipomas and cysts.

“I became a general surgeon because of the amazing relationships I develop with my patients. They place their trust in me during some of life’s most vulnerable moments, and I feel honored to walk with them in their journey,” said Dr. Russell.

Dr. Russell also brings an engineering background that fuels his passion for robotics and technology-driven surgical care.
