The Power of Personal Care

Finding the right healthcare provider is more than just a practical necessity—it’s the foundation of an ongoing partnership, a trusted relationship that brings comfort, confidence, and peace of mind. At TriState Health, our goal is to be the community’s healthcare provider of choice, a commitment that extends throughout our family practice clinics, where personalized, compassionate care is at the core of everything we do. Primary care providers often serve as long-term partners in health, guiding patients through various stages of life and ensuring continuity of care.
Finding the right fit, as Holly Heath discovered, can be life-changing. After her longtime doctor retired, she was in search of a new provider—someone who would not only meet her medical needs but also provide the kind of warm-hearted, personal care that makes all the difference. That search led her to Sherry Sweikert-Smith, DNP, NP-C, a provider at TriState Family Practice Lewiston, and as Holly puts it, finding Sherry was nothing short of a blessing.
“Several years ago, my doctor retired, and I was looking for a replacement,” Holly recalls. “Someone suggested a provider at TriState, but that provider wasn’t taking any new patients at the time. I was able to pick between a couple of others, and by the grace of God, I picked Sherry! I couldn’t be happier!”
It’s no secret that healthcare can feel overwhelming, but for Holly, Sherry has transformed routine visits into reassuring experiences. “She is prompt, insightful, attentive, and really listens to your concerns,” Holly shares. “She gets to the bottom
of them quickly. Sherry always remembers what we need to go over on each and every visit and makes them feel personal.”
This kind of care is more than medical charts and treatment plans, it builds trust, fosters a sense of security. Holly expresses just how much her relationship with Sherry has meant to her over the years. “I have never had such a great experience with a doctor before. Not only do I enjoy going to visit with her, but I consider her a friend. I speak about her quite often to my friends, and a couple have chosen to go to her as well, and they love her just as much!”
Angela Branting shares a similar story of connection, this time with James Maguire, DO, a provider at TriState Family Practice Clearwater, known for his calming presence and thoughtful approach. “To Dr. Maguire, you are not just a patient, he treats his patients like a member of his family,” Angela says. “He doesn’t just ask you what’s happening, he actually listens and wants you to know that you mean just as much to him as any other patient. You feel like your concerns matter, and your time with him is never rushed. He wants to make sure all your questions are answered and he doesn’t want you to feel like you’re on the clock when he sees you at your appointment,” she continues. “Your time is specifically your time.”
Lisa Borland, another patient at TriState Family Practice, Lewiston, has found the same level of trust and compassion in her provider, Jennifer Creaser, ARNP. She describes Jennifer as not only highly competent, but also deeply empathetic—someone who takes the time to truly listen. “She is very, very caring,” Lisa shares. “She listens to your issues and medical concerns. She makes you feel comfortable and cared for because she truly understands your needs.”
Lisa appreciates how Jennifer ensures she stays on top of her health, proactively guiding her through necessary screenings and follow-ups. “She keeps me accountable, whether it’s reminding me about an upcoming mammogram or another important checkup. She’s always looking out for my well-being.”
What sets Jennifer apart, Lisa notes, is her ability to connect with patients on a personal level. “She’s so full of love and empathy—you can just tell. I feel like I can share anything with her, and she takes it into consideration. She listens because she knows that I know my body best.”
“I thank her for everything she’s done for me and others. We need more people like her—people who have true understanding and kindness in their everyday practice,” said Lisa.
