A MESSAGE TO OUR PATIENTS

A recent national survey by Public Opinion Strategies revealed that many Americans have concerns about re-engaging with the medical system. Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, over half of Americans indicated that they, or someone in their household, have either delayed or skipped medical care. This included going to the Emergency Department.

Tri-State Memorial Hospital is prepared to treat everyone who may have had their medical care disrupted during the pandemic. We encourage everyone in our community to make a promise to reach out to your doctor and not neglect your health. The health of you and your family is our top priority.

“We want to remind our community that if you are ill or are suffering from a life-threatening illness or injury – please do not delay seeking medical care,” said Jackie Mossakowski, Chief Nursing Office at Tri-State Memorial Hospital. “We want to stress that it is safe to see your doctor, do not delay.”

Tri-State Memorial Hospital offers a safe environment for our patients – we did so prior to COVID-19 and we continue to do so. We have put into place strict safeguards to protect our patients, providers and employees to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Protective measures include employee and patient screening, thorough cleaning and disinfecting of our facilities, and visitor limitations.

In the midst of a crisis, there are opportunities to improve and become more innovative. While our clinics are safe, we have initiated new models of care that are here to stay, including telehealth services.

“We can do almost any kind of visit through telehealth,” said Dr. John Rudolph, of Tri-State Family Practice Lewiston. “Our patients have appreciated the ease and security that comes from receiving healthcare in the safety of their own homes.”

As we begin re-opening and looking ahead, our community is starting to see what the “new normal” will look like following the pandemic. Although COVID-19 will be part of our lives for some time, we cannot ignore treatment for other illnesses or injuries. Delaying care can have serious consequences.
